Super Sonic: burning hot, shining bright like the sun itself and flying as fast as a shooting star. His demeanor is light and free, yet he moves with purpose. His light is bright and blinding, but his warmth nurtures life around him, makes flowers bloom at his feet and causes people's hearts to race. His smile beams and brings hope to anyone who lays his eyes upon it. He is the embodiment of positivity and hope, a beacon of light in the darkness of despair.

Dark Sonic: frigid and dark like the emptiness of space. Silent and statuesque, he moves rigidly, yet so quickly the naked eye can't follow. He drains the light and warmth and life around him and leaves nothing but cold air and death in his wake. His face is blank, his eyes pure, white nothingness that inspires fear upon any who lay their eyes upon him. The beacon of hope has been snuffed out, he has become one with the darkness itself.

PUTTING THE NEW PAGE INTO THIS ASK AS WELL FOR GHE FIRST TIME BECAUSE THERE IS A LOT TO TALK ABOUT WITH THIS PAGE SO PLEASE BEAR WITH ME HERE

Ima start with the first panel because there’s already so much in that one single panel and it is gonna drive me nuts!

So first up, we have “Secret” Chaotix meeting room. Yes, this place is apparently being kept a secret from the public eye. This could be due to the Chaotix having to handle a bunch of super deep and disturbing cases that, if allowed to spill out into the public, would be catastrophic! Not in the sense that it would destroy the world or anything like that, but it’d certainly ruin their reputation as detectives! Don’t detectives irl have these kinds of cases too…? Or maybe I’m thinking too hard on this and it’s just the place they meet with their friends whenever Eggman does something stupid? Who knows.

I do know though that it looks beautiful and it looks like they’re actually in a room which, as an amateur artist myself, can only dream of achieving!! It looks so cool! I just… I adore your backgrounds and I can tell you put a lot of love and effort into making them, so please give yourself a pat on the back!

And maybe I’m reading too much into a single panel.

But that’s not all that we get to see!!! (No I’m not talking about the Chaotix even though I REALLY wanna talk about the Chaotix cuz they deserve more love and I’m so glad they’re here THANK YOUUUUUUUU) YEAH THAT’S RIGHT, SONIC IS FULLY CONVERTED TO DARK GAIA SONIC LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Well not fully converted, but we can clearly see that it’s taking a huge toll on his body! Not only are the markings now visible on him during the day, but it also seems to be siphoning his energy…? Kind of…? I mean, Sonic has been out cold since “Killing” Omega, and usually he wouldn’t be so out of it otherwise. And I can see a little tiny X over his Gaia eye, so… I’m not too sure, but what I am sure of is that this is BAD for Sonic. The poor guy is gonna have to deal with not only being corrupted during the day, but also at night, and that cannot be good for his psyche. It was bad enough when he had to be in a completely new body for just the nighttime, but now it’s for both day and night in its own way, and… Gosh, this is gonna be torture for Sonic once he wakes up.

Okay now onto the actually lore panels because there is so much to uncover but BEFORE WE GET INTO THE LORE PARTS OF ALL THAT LEMME JUST POINT OUT HOW PISSED SHADOW LOOKS IN THE SECOND PANEL BRO LOOKS LIKE HE WANTS TO PUNT CHIP INTO THE SUN FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER AND HE IS JUST SO OVERPROTECTIVE OF SONIC IT’S NOT EVEN FUNNY I LOVE THIS ANGSTY EDGY BOY SO MUCH BUT I WANNA KNOW WHAT IS GOING THROUGH HIS HEAD RIGHT NOW WHY IS HE GLARING DAGGERS AT CHIP WHAT DID THIS LITTLE CREECHUR EVEN DO TO YOU SHADZ

Okay back to the lore-

So, im still gonna call Light Gaia as Chip because I still see a cute adorable fluffy fairy in those big brown eyes and I think he deserves a real name. Anyhow, Chip now is aware of him being a literal god. He says he regulates the day and Dark Gaia regulates the night. This kind of makes sense. Chip handles the sun and DG handles the moon. Think Luna and Celestia from MLP. And similar to those two as well, Dark Gaia got out of control like Luna did and created an eternal night. But this doesn’t really explain the planet splitting into a million giant pieces. (Not literally a million) Nor does it explain Chip losing his memory. Chip claims that whenever one of them falls out of line, the other will be there to pull them back together. Does this mean Chip or Dark Gaia have lost their memory before? Have the events of Unleashed happened before? How do they reign the other in?

These questions are probably gonna get answered in the next page lmao what am I doing-

Everything else is kinda sorta spelled out to us which I think is a good thing, since Chip is, in the story, explaining all of this to a group of people who had no idea about any of this for their entire lives. The poor Chaotix just got roped into this, they just want their pay. So with that in mind I don’t know what else to really cover…? Maybe I’ll notice something later on and just start spamming you with questions, who knows. Under the Moonlight - Part 1 - Legend of Dark Gaia

WHO'S HUNGRY FOR SOME WACHOWSKI HALLOWEEN STORIES?? (I am at least XD)

THIS STORY IS VERY LONG BUT WILL BE IN PARTS SO DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT.

Quick note: This story takes place before the sequel. Any Sonic Movie story I write like this one will be a pre-sequel story.

After a long, fun night of trick or treating, Sonic was about to head home, but came across an old friend. He thought he wanted to get some ghost stories out of him, but he was not expecting to hear something so... Nightmarish.

Orange, red and yellow of the leaves slowly rain down to the neighborhood in Green Hills. Sundown is completely gone, all is left is the light of the moon in the dark sky, lurking behind the almost leaf-free trees.

Children and teens of all kinds ran down the sidewalks, most on the roads, to hurry to the next houses for more of the sweet, sugary goodness that is Halloween candy.

The best kind of candy.

One group of kids come across a small house, the front lawn decorated with fake tombstones and funny looking skeletons, which appeared to be dancing by the tree.

And the door already greets them with such a, not-so threatening message: "Knock, if you dare."

One younger kid, who is dressed up as a cowgirl, rings the doorbell, and raises her small blue pumpkin bucket up high before the door opens. So did the rest of the group.

One other kid in the center of the group comes up front, the kid being Sonic, wearing a black cape with worn out gloves with "blood stains" on the tips of his fingers. He was sporting fake fangs and has red makeup drizzled down from his mouth.

He thought a vampire was the best choice for his first Halloween costume.

The door opens, revealing a young man holding an purple bowl, with drawings of spider webs going around it. The bowl was half empty, but it contained chocolates of all kinds, from milk chocolate, to peanut butter, to caramel.

"Trick or treat!" The group exclaimed, holding out their buckets and bags full of candy. "Hey, cool costumes, you guys!" They said, grabbing handfuls of chocolates and gave them to each kid.

"You guys look reeeaaal spooky, tonight. Especially you, Johnny, super scary!" They chuckled, complimenting the young boy wearing an iconic Pennywise outfit.

"What about me?" Sonic asked, being handed with a few candy bars. "Do I look spooky too?"

"Oh, yeah! You look spooky, alright! Awesome costume, Sonic!" They said.

Sonic slightly pumps his fists and quietly exclaimed, "Yes!"

In no time, all the kids got their chocolates and walked off, waving goodbye to the man. "Happy Halloween!" They all said.

Sonic also waved goodbye before leaving. "Thank you! And Happy Halloweeeeeeeeen!" He said in a spooky tone, clawing his hands before almost dropping his bucket. He giggled and ran off. "You too!" They said before closing the door.

Sonic approached Tom, with a huge smile on his face. "This night is AWESOME! I got SO much candy so far! Check it out!" He then shows off his pumpkin shaped bucket which was filled to the brim with lots of different candies.

"I got chocolates candies, sour candies, even bubble gum! And that's not even half of what I got!" He shrieked with joy, looking inside his bucket. "I know I said this a hundred times already, but, I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!"

"I know." The sheriff said, also smiling. He couldn't get enough of seeing this small hedgehog being happy over this night. "And you actually said it 17 times tonight."

"You counted?"

"Of course I did."

"...Nah, it wasn't too much."

"Right."

The vampire hedgehog then switched his bucket to his other hand, as his fingers were getting sore from the heavy bucket. "Ouch..." He then moved his fingers a little bit to give them more circulation.

"Alright! On to the next house!" He said, as he was about to run off when suddenly the Donut Lord held him by the arm. "Whoa, there! Hang on." He spoke.

"What, what? What is it? Why are we stopping?" Sonic said, getting eager and a little bit impatient to wait before heading to another house. Even his knees were bouncing non stop.

"It's almost eight o'clock." Tom looked at his phone. The clock was just a few minutes until eight. "And??" Sonic placed his gloved hand on his hip.

"It's getting late, and the day is almost over. It's time for us to head home, bud." Tom said, almost regretting saying that, considering how much fun Sonic has been having.

And he called it, as Sonic's ears flopped down and he just looked almost devastated. "What? Already?! Aw, come on!" He whined, kicking the ground. "Halloween can't be over yet! Can we go trick or treating for a few more minutes?? Please????" He cupped his hands together, pleading.

"Sorry, but we can't stay out here too late. Halloween is over til next year." He patted his head, hoping that information will calm him down.

He knew it wouldn't work, but it was worth a shot.

"I can't wait until next year. This is my first ever Halloween with you, Tom." He said sadly, looking at the ground. "I was having so much fun..."

"Hey, it's alright. Don't be sad because it's over. Be happy that it happened!" Tom placed his hand on Sonic's shoulder. "I was having fun too, and trust me, next year will be even more fun, and even more spooooookyyyyy!" Tom wiggled his fingers at the hedgehog, trying to look intimidating, but Sonic laughed at the sight.

At least that cheered him up.

"Haha! You're right! Next year will be even better than this one! I already have plans for my next costume!" He said, giggling, and looking all better already.

"Well, that was fast." Tom said, walking along with Sonic. "Duh, that's what I'm known for." Sonic jokingly boasted, catching up to him.

"I'll give you a hint: BRRAAAAIINNS!!" Sonic roared, reaching his hands out and walking slowly and weakly like a zombie.

"Oh, boy. I wonder what it could be..." Tom taps his chin with his finger, pretending to think really hard on what this costume could be.

"I'm gonna go all out on that costume next year! Just you wait!" He beamed up a confident smile, thinking on how his zombie costume will look.

Maddie was the one who helped out his costume, and even buying an extra pair of gloves to make it look better. He knows that she can make a great zombie costume.

"Why not a zombot? That's more iconic."

"Ehhhh, I'm good." He chuckled nervously. "I'll just stick to old school, thank you very much."

Sonic cringed at the memory of his first horror movie night with Tom, Maddie and Wade. It was just gonna be the three of them, but the moment Sonic over heard them say "horror," he couldn't take no for an answer.

He wished he did though. He wasn't expecting Night of The Zombots to be so... Gory.

At least Nicholas Cage looked pretty badass in the film.

"And I thought Poltergeist was freaking scary..." He mumbled to himself.

"I heard that."

"The movie wasn't that scary! Besides, you can tell the CGI was fake even from the first viewing!" He crossed his arms, trying to act tough.

"It was from the 2000s, it was the first Visual Effects movie Studiopolis Productions worked on." Tom stated.

"Whatever."

"You should see the remake. It's twice as scary." Tom teased.

"Oh, God, there's a remake?!" Sonic squealed with concern.

And he blinked. "Uh, I mean, I bet that movie also sucked."

"Hey, now." Donut Lord said, kneeling down to Sonic's level. "Don't hide the fact that the movie made you feel uncomfortable, alright? You even admitted it yourself that night."

"I'm just not used to expressing myself, dude. You know that."

"I do know that, but I'm here to remind that your feelings matter, okay?"

"...I knew that." He smile crept on his muzzle.

"Okay, let's head home." Tom continued walking off with Sonic alongside, bucket still in his hand. Sonic watched all the kids and teens in different costumes roaming the streets. He felt sad at first, but smiled once again knowing that he'll be able to do this all over again next year.

He really does love Halloween.

"Finally, we made it home." Tom sighed, happy to see his house. Sonic didn't even knew that the house was close by cause his mind was elsewhere. "Already? Geez."

"What's up, buddy?"

"Didn't you see that one house that was covered in egg yolk a few minutes ago??" He points behind him.

"Ahh, must've been Karen and Issac's little trick." Tom barked slightly. The young teens are pretty rebellious, and not in a good way. They get in trouble in school more times than anyone else in town, and sometimes draw nasty messages on buildings.

And to make them worse, they despise Sonic, even though he saved the town not too long ago.

They always call him dumb nicknames like "man-hog" or "blue rat." Sonic always hated "man-hog" the most.

But he brushed them off, he knew they were just jealous because he's the one who saved the town from Robotnik. But, of course, Issac and Karen are a total pain to not just Sonic, but to the majority of Green Hills.

Especially Wade.

"...Oh." Sonic just now realized who that house belonged to. "Poor Wade..."

"That's the third Halloween in a row." Tom shook his head.

"I hope it's easy to clean off."

"Trust me, it was not." He knew from experience.

Sonic was able to see his house from a distance, and he can already see his own fake tombstones and other spooky decorations and fake webs swaying in the gentle wind.

He smiled, excited to show Maddie all the candy he got tonight.

He was about to move forward but then suddenly notice a bright light from within the forest far from the house. It drove his attention away from the house and idea of heading back home.

What was that just now? He thought, looking behind him and looking closely into the woods.

Nothing else was happening. The light didn't even appear again. Maybe it was just his imagination?

"Hmm..."

"Buddy?" Tom called out, just realizing that Sonic stopped walking and is now ahead of him. "I, uh... I'll be right back." Sonic said, zooming straight into the forest, along with his bucket of candy.

"Sonic?!" Tom cried out. "Where are you going??" Sonic was already gone by the time he finished his question.

Sonic continued walking through the woods searching for the source of the light that went by earlier. He had ideas on what that was.

A car driving by? Perhaps.

Some guy wearing a super bright costume? Maybe...

A firefly? ...Yeah, no. That's not it.

"Hello?" Sonic called out. "Anybody out here?"

There was no response, but he kept searching anyway.

He came to a halt however, when he suddenly saw the light peaking through the trees. It's the same one from before. He found it!

Sonic zipped straight to the source, only to find...

"An RV?" Sonic looked around it, realizing how familiar it looked. "Hey... This is-"

"Blue Devil!"

A voice cried out, making Sonic jumped and dropped his bucket, pouring out candy onto the ground. "My candy!" He panicked, grabbing them back to the bucket quickly. "Nonononono..."

"Ahh, didn't mean to frighten ya." The voice spoke from close by. Sonic, while he was still putting candy back, looked up to see none other than Carl putting away his things into the RV. It was hard to tell, but he had a small smile behind that bushy beard of his.

"Crazy Carl! it's been a while, old pal! I thought you were at Spring Valley?" Sonic said, picking back up his bucket, all the candy back inside.

"Ah just wanna pay a little visit before ah head back." He spoke. "Maybe sometime the next day I should give the sheriff a good ol' visit and-" Carl was then distracted by Sonic's costume. "That's a... Interesting outfit ya have there."

"Like it? I'm a vampire!" Sonic said, clawing his gloved hands, looking spooky. "BLEECH!"

Carl was unamused. "Ya call that scary? How is a vampire scary?"

"You don't like it? ...Rude."

"It's called an 'honest opinion,' ya Blue Devil. Ah've seen scarier things than a vampire out of all things."

"Oh?" Sonic raised a brow from that statement. "Knowing you, and considering the time of year," Sonic's smile grew wider, in love with the sudden idea that just popped into his head. "Perhaps maybe you should... Oh, I don't know..."

"What? Spit it out, already." Carl demanded calmly.

"Heheh." This is gonna be good.

"Carl, you must've seen and heard about a lot of interesting stories in your life. I would love to know these stories and why they are so much more scarier than vampires." Sonic placed down his bucket on the ground in front of his feet.

"Well now, you better be takin' these stories seriously. These aren't just like those phony ghost stories the children often tell." Carl began. "These are real. Very much real." He said, in the coldest tone possible.

"In that case, enough stalling. What story do you have in mind, buddy ol' pal?" He crossed his arms, ready to hear some of Crazy Carl's tales. "Please, make me shudder in fear." He "pleaded."

"If that's what ya truly want..."

Sonic then grabbed his bucket closer to him as he sat down to the closest log. He kicked his feet slightly, eager to hear this spooky story.

"Now, this tale is even older than I am. Passed down from generation to generation in this very part of the woods. It's well known back in Spring Valley, but most parts of your town was effected by it as well." He began.

"'It?' Who, or what, is 'it?'"

"Dark Gaia."

The hedgehog's eyes grew with fascination. "Dark Gaia? You mean like... Gaia as in Earth? I think Maddie taught me about that one-"

"Blue Devil, don't interrupt."

"Sorry, haha. I'll stay quiet."

"Anyways," Carl continued his story.

"The legend of Dark Gaia came from an incident that happened a few hundred years ago, just after Green Hills was founded. Dark Gaia itself was a large, dark being unlike any creature. Horror beyond comprehension."

"Like a being from hell."

"Sheesh..." Sonic said to himself. He continued to listen to Carl's story.

"The creature never dares to come out from the Earth, only it's energy and it's vile minions called Nightmares. It's Dark Gaia energy is an, almost invisible like smoke, that roams the woods, searching for their new Nightmare for the Dark Gaia."

"The Nightmares are big beings, their bodies have glowing auras that even the blindest of critters can see. They have blue and red marking on their shoulders and face, and their number one priority? Consume a living, breathing being's soul, to help them become stronger."

The hedgehog is super intrigued, if not, creeped out. Maybe it's both.

"You ever come across a Nightmare, that's it. You can't escape 'em. The moment they see you, that's the end of your story. Never to be seen or heard of again. Thankfully, it's been too long since a Nightmare has been spotted, but the Dark Gaia's energy still roams about the forest of Spring Valley and most of Green Hills."

Sonic looked around a bit, searching for anything strange like the energy Carl was talking about, but he continued listening.

"Three young men wanted to explore Spring Valley, and perhaps find something valuable along the way. It was a full moon that night. Just like tonight."

Sonic looked up at the dark sky, and there it was. The moon, full and bright. He felt a cold sweat. He looked back at Carl.

"Dark Gaia's energy, including the Nightmares, only appears during a full moon. They can't roam around in broad daylight, and only appear during the midnight hour. The moon will glow a light shade of purple once the time comes, and the young men made a grim mistake that faithful night."

"Dark Gaia energy sometimes seeks through the ground, escaping the Earth to finds it's new minion. Once it does, you better get your butt out of there woods, unfortunately for the men, they didn't follow that rule."

"One fella felt strange just after a few minutes of being in the woods. He ignored the raging feeling of Dark Gaia's energy, infesting his brain with feral thoughts, thoughts filled with rage and hunger."

"It wasn't too long before his friends come across him on the ground, in pain, the Dark Gaia energy unleashing from his body, completely transforming him into something awful."

"He was partiality a Dark Gaia creature, fur purple, with a hint of a darker blue. He was bigger, and more muscle than he was before. He's grown sharp claws, and his teeth have grown sharper as well. He's was a half complete monster."

Sonic lets out a small gasp.

"He was still himself, but the feral thoughts kept trying to reach out, begging him to rip his friends to shreds and join Dark Gaia. Legends also says however, that there is a way to rid of the Dark Gaia's energy from your body, and bring you back."

"It was the Light Gaia's bracelet, hidden somewhere in Green Hills. But from where they are, Green Hills was too far, and the moment they reached their destination, it was too late. His feral instincts took over and one of his friends... Never made it alive."

Sonic's eyes grew in horror. "Wh... What about-?"

"The other was fine. ...For a while. When the infested friend attacked him, some of Dark Gaia's energy went inside of him. When the sun came up, the beast disappeared into the woods and was ascended into the Earth, forever one with Dark Gaia, never to be cured."

"And soon will be his friend the next full moon. For now, it was just him and his inner thoughts haunting him for days. No one in town believed him when he told them everything. Some folks venture into the woods to see what the commotion was about."

"Last mistake they ever made in their lives..."

Sonic covered his mouth slightly.

"Dark Gaia's energy is still out here somewhere, hundreds and hundreds of years later. It's been a long time since the Dark Gaia found it's new minions, but I highly doubt Dark Gaia will give up."

Crazy Carl lets out a long exhausted sigh.

"I believe it is impossible to avoid Dark Gaia, but that doesn't mean it's impossible to rid of it. That is, if Light Gaia's bracelet is found, of course. Many folks were unlucky to come across a Nightmare, but becoming one is the worst of all."

"No one knows, not even Dark Gaia itself, knows who the next victim will be. I might be the town's sheriff."

Sonic's eyes grew more.

"Or maybe the deputy, Whipple."

They grew again.

"Or maybe even me."

Sonic held his own hand, wanting Carl to stop talking already.

Carl's brow furrowed. "Or maybe..." Carl then stared right at the blue hedgehog. "Maybe..."

Sonic gasped again.

"It might..."

Sonic felt a cold chill in the air.

"Be..."

Could it be...?

"Sonic??" A voice called out.

"NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

Both Tom and Crazy Carl both jumped at Sonic's sudden cry of terror. He breathed rather quickly, his mind still on the Dark Gaia story. Carl was slightly surprised to see Sonic like that.

"Ya didn't have to take it that seriously."

Tom looked over to see Carl. It all makes sense now. "Ah... Carl. It's been a while." He spoke flatly. "What are you doing out here?"

"Visiting." He responded. "Your Blue Devil here come up out here wanting to say 'hi.'"

Tom looked to see the hedgehog turning around to see his best friend. "Tom!" He cried and ran up to him, jumping up to give him a big hug. "I was looking all over for you, buddy! Why'd you run off?"

"My lights caught his attention."

"Carl, what did you do?" Tom looked back at Crazy Carl, with a stern look in his eyes.

"Reminding him about Dark Gaia. Remember, Wachowski, it's a full moon tonight." Carl warned quietly. "Keep that kid of yours safe. From it."

"...What?"

"Alright, I'm off. Nice seein' ya, ya Blue Devil! You too, sheriff!" He exclaimed before walking back inside the RV. Tom shook his head, not standing the audacity of that guy.

"Ooookay, I'm not sure what the heck just happened, but we're heading back home. Maddie's waiting for us." Tom said, carrying the shaking hedgehog back to the house.

"But Tom! Dark Gaia! What if it's out here?!" Sonic said, looking around the forest frantically. Tom groaned. "Sonic, there's no such thing as Dark Gaia. It's just a silly story made up by some kids a long time ago."

"But Crazy Carl said the story was real!"

"Carl tends to believe in a lot of stupid crap. That's his style. Now don't worry about it."

"Oh, yeah? How about that time when he told you guys about the 'Blue Devil,' which turned out to be real, who by the way, is ME??"

"Well- I- That's different."

"HOW IS THAT DIFFERENT?!"

"Sonic, please, just calm down. Okay? There is no Dark Gaia energy coming to get you. You hear me? You're fine. There is no Dark Gaia energy." Tom reassured, looking at the hedgehog.

Sonic sighed, looking at the ground. "Okay... Fine. I believe you."

"Okay. Good. ...Hey, where's your-?"

"MY BUCKET!"

Sonic jumped back on the ground, looking for his Halloween bucket. "Buddy," Tom spoke. "it's over there." He pointed to the bucket next to the log.

"Uhhh..." Sonic looked at the bucket, then into the abyss that is the woods, where possibly Nightmares and Dark Gaia energy are lurking. "You get it, I'm not going back there."

"For the love of..." Tom massaged the bridge of his nose. "Sonic, there's no Dark Gaia, okay? It's fine, go get your bucket. It'll take you about 0.4 seconds to grab it and head home."

"R-Right. I knew that. I'll just..." Sonic takes one small step. Then stopped.

"...Sonic."

"Right, right, Sorry. I'll get my bucket and..."

He took another step.

And another.

And another.

"Sonic, I promise you, you're okay." Tom said softly.

Sonic inhaled...

Then exhaled.

"I'm not scared. I am not scared.

He quickly grabbed his bucket and ran off screaming, leaving trails of candy behind.

"...Well, that was easy." Tom said to himself.

He began picking up the pieces of candy as he follows down the trail Sonic ran off to.

Fictober Day 17: "Strangest thing I ever heard"

Summary: Sonic tells Super about his adventure fixing a broken planet. Super clearly doesn't know what to think about Sonic's odd adventures.

Sonic stretched as he relaxed in the headspace he and Super shared. The two didn't meet here often, typically just talking and being able to feel each other's emotions was enough, but Sonic had specifically requested a "face to face" for this. He wanted, no needed to see Super's reactions when he told him about this particular adventure. "You just gonna keep sitting there or are you actually going to start this?" Super sat cross legged across from him, chin balanced on his hand and bored look on his face.

"Just collecting my thoughts dude." Sonic chuckled. "Now then… where to start…" He snapped. "Ah right! Eggman trying to threaten the planet with a fleet of spaceships. I of course went up to stop him. Things got a little dicey so I ended up using the emeralds." He looked away. "Guess Eggman had been expecting me to come with them though cause he ended up trapping me and using the emeralds to power some big laser that broke the planet apart. Draining the emeralds in the process."

Super held up a hand, a mildly bewildered look on his face. "Why the hell did you mention the planet literally breaking into pieces so casually?"

"Well as you could probably tell we got it all fixed so." Sonic shrugged. "If I think too hard about it I realize just how serious Eggman can be sometimes."

Super growled. "Alright whatever. Continue."

"Right. Turns out he split the planet apart to wake up Dark Gaia. Somehow him using me kinda as a battery for that caused me to uh, gain an additional form for a bit." He tapped his chin. "You know werewolves right?" 

"Yeah..?" Super blinked.

"Great. So I basically turned into one at night. Called it the werehog." Sonic chuckled to himself. "After the planet was in pieces Eggman launched me abd the emeralds out of his ship and I got sent hurtling towards the planet. I survived though, of course."

"... I have so many questions." Super's face was blank. 

"Please save any questions for the end of the story. Cause I know there'll be more." Sonic grinned. "Not long after I crash landed I found this little guy I ended up calling Chip. He couldn't remember anything and that included a name. I promised I'd help him out."

"On top of literally fixing the planet?" Super rose a brow.

"Yep." Sonic nodded. "It just felt like the right thing to do." He shrugged. "Anyway it was that first night after meeting Chip that I realized that the werehog would be a nightly thing. Also found out that Dark Gaia could mess with people's emotions. Oh yeah, and my arms could stretch. Useful, but odd." Super's face twisted up into some emotion Sonic couldn't place. "Questions after remember?" 

Super took in a sharp breath. "Fine." His voice was tight.

Sonic took a deep breath before really getting into the meat of the adventure. Super did his best to keep his face neutral throughout everything but the other hedgehog was clearly failing. With every new thing Sonic brought up, whether it be placing the drained Chaos Emeralds in the Gaia Temples to restore them and pieces of the planet or mentioning Professor Pickles’ love for very specific cucumber sandwiches, Super’s face grew more and more confused. 

“-in the end it turned out Chip was Light Gaia. His memories were all messed up because he and Dark Gaia got woken up early.” Sonic let a wistful smile slip onto his face. “In the end me and him teamed up and sent Dark Gaia back to sleep. Ended up fighting the thing in the core of the planet using the emeralds, and Chip making a golem out of the Gaia Temples.” He sighed. “Had to say goodbye after that, Chip had to go back to sleep.”

Super had his head in his hands. He groaned before looking up at Sonic again. “Done?”

“Yeeeep.” Sonic popped the p.

“Good, because that was the strangest thing I’ve ever heard in my relatively short life.” Super gestured to Sonic. “You becoming a werewolf, the planet literally being in pieces, you fighting a god in the core of the earth alongside another god?” The other hedgehog sounded slightly out of it by the end.

“You clearly have no idea how weird some of my adventures can get.” Sonic chuckled. 

“And I’m not sure I even want to know now. What could be weirder than all that?” Super had a deadpan look on his face. Sonic simply shrugged. “You know what-” Super held his hands up. “Even if there is something weirder I don’t wanna know right now. I still need to process all that.” He rubbed his temples.

“Hey, you asked me to tell you about this one.” Sonic chuckled.

“I was naive and blinded by curiosity as to what the heck those people were talking about in Holoska.” Super pinned his ears down and pointed at Sonic. “I thought they were just exaggerating something.”

“Nope.” Sonic stood up and stretched. “Well I’ll leave you be to… process.” He couldn’t help the short chuckle that left him.

“Yeah, fine, good.” Super waved him off, looking distracted.

As Sonic blinked open his real eyes he couldn’t help the amused smile that came to his face. He’d definitely have to tell Super about his other adventures some time.

Not exactly a headcannon, but I wanted to talk about my thoughts on the 'Eggman doesn't plan ahead' view that's been going around because of idw. I feel like one of my personal favourite Eggman moments in the entire series, the sonic unleashed opening, kinda disproves it. Eggman was clearly surprised that Sonic had the emeralds, and if he had known sonic had them he wouldn't have attacked him as directly as he did. Despite this, he still had a machine on standby capable of defeating Super Sonic! By strategically fleeing to it he essentially turned the battle's tide in seconds, and would have literally have killed sonic if the almost powerless emeralds hadn't gotten him through atmosphere re-entry. It's a brilliant display of cunning, and I believe it soundly proves that he is capable of backup plans.

Also, gotta love how casually he tries to kill sonic. He makes a joke about his new werehog look, and it's out the airlock with him. Ruthless.

Yeah I don't think people remember that Eggman was genuinely expecting Sonic to die from that fall,

(Also gotta mention that I love how this is just another of the million examples that Eggman does actually really want to kill Sonic, won't be sad when he dies, and will just continue with his plan lol)

The capsule exploding in space in SA2 would especially guarantee his death and would be more satisfying but in the spur of the moment, he expected that simply tossing him out would work too. Plus, Sonic was indeed saved when his fall was stunted by the aura of light from the emeralds around him and Eggman had no way of knowing it could happen. They say that tossing the emeralds out was an oversight and SA-55 sasses him for it but I gotta defend him because I just don't know what else he could've done. Try to grab the emeralds with Sonic still there? Sure, they fell with him when it would've been better to keep them but at least he wouldn't be a hassle, if he'd died as he hoped.

I feel Eggman did expect Sonic to have the emeralds on him though, he looked surprised when he used them maybe because he didn't expect him to use them right there and then or to make it seem believable and not like he had a trick up his sleeve. But it was all part of the clever trick to lure him in with an epic space battle to the place where he'd extract the emerald energy from Super Sonic and use it to break apart the planet and release Dark Gaia. I love that sly bastard moment, it's also something else that really proves he can have a solid step by step plan but it's overlooked because of the emeralds and last minute Dark Gaia betrayal.

But even so, Eggman wasn't just sitting around for no reason during the in between of those moments that get criticism, unlike in the Metal Virus arc where Eggman was just like "eh I'll figure something out later" and didn't even seem to care. In Unleashed, he was still trying to get to temples before the emeralds could be restored, was also building Eggmanland- on top of the last one which makes it even harder, and had multiple robots sent out and used by him to stop Sonic, and he was specifically waiting for Dark Gaia's pieces to come to him. The last thing he was doing was giving up and doing nothing. And all that counts for him being able to smartly plan ahead too.

Eggman is overconfident, can be a bit reckless, and can make oversights but he knows how to learn from it and improve and he isn't careless and lazy if he notices an issue that can result in his plan falling apart. He knows when to wait and when to act, he's smart and quick thinking, he always fights as hard as he can until the end and will have an idea of his plan step by step that's often with research and preparation, often has backups and extra tricks in store, is ready to adapt to sudden changes of plan when it's not pre-planned, and remains determined to succeed. It's a big part of what's so admirable about him. He does all that just for people to say he never has a solid plan!

So yeah, there was really no truth to how he was handled in the Metal Virus arc, it's not accurate to how he is in the games. Literally every example I've seen people try to give from the games doesn't prove their misconceptions, in fact in every single game they mention, there's actually stuff that blatantly disproves and shows otherwise that they fail to acknowledge or mention. It boils down to them misinterpreting/ignoring/forgetting parts of canon, making stuff up, or expecting him to always 100% accurately predict everything in situations where it literally couldn't have gone any differently because he's a genius but he's not a psychic lmfao

And yeah gotta love how casual he was about it too, just "so long, friend!" And then tried to kill his ass lol

I know nothing about sonic the hedgehog nor do i follow you but I read all your tags and I am just sitting here and processing that sonic lore is much more intense than I ever realized.

YEAH its wild. i actually did a lot of research into the lore of shadow the hedgehog specifically bc a while back i decided to make an rp account for a trans man maria robotnik, and i ended up really facinated by some of the stuff I found. a lot of it has been retconned since sega has been removing any references to humanity from stuff, and ig it was more profitable to ignore shadow's character development and keep him all brooding and edgy, but i still find it fun!

this got long so i'll put the rest of my rambling under a cut

I have a ton of headcanons for parts of the lore that are either skipped over, ignored or retconned because i find it fun, actually! Including parts of the comics is also always interesting, because then I can take concepts like "mobians" being the term for sonic's species (Something which is no longer used by sega due to a Certain Creep who used to write for them) and some of their society, and how they would work alongside humans in a society where humans and mobians evolved together

literally any and all sonic game is fun to disect and steal concepts from imo - and yes i'm including sonic 06 because I like the setting, and some of the ideas held within it. I actually have a character based on a rewrite of 06 -

oh and doubly yes to sonic forces bc I Have Ideas About The Phantom Ruby. like, a lot of them. so many of them. i think forces didn't use it to its fullest potential personally. the resistance as a concept is also fun, bc it's a concept that pops up a lot in various forms of sonic media and this gives an example of how modern iterations of those could work, with or without sonic's influence

dont even get me started on werehog sonic - gaia (light and dark) and the phantom ruby and the chaos emeralds have Connections in my head, but not the ones you would think. honestly i think every "bad" sonic game has so many cool lore potentials if used correctly, especially if linked up into a cohesive enviroment!

Sonic Dark Shadows: Chapter 1

*Many Moons ago, At The Earth's Core* *Sonic and Chip are seen fighting Dark Gaia* *Sonic is in his super form, and Chip is in his Gaia Colossus form* *Sonicverse Kylie Dear is seen standing on one of the temples, that makes up Chip's chest plate* Kylie: Get him guys! You can do it! *Sonic turns towards Kylie, and gives her a thumbs up* Kylie: *giggles* *One of Dark Gaia's tentacles moves towards Kylie, and wraps around her* Kylie: *screams* Sonic: *His face immediately changes from confident, to frighten* Whoa! *The tentacle pulls her towards Dark Gaia* *Kylie reaches out for Sonic, screaming in pure shock and horror* Sonic: Kylie! *Sonic immediately flies after her* Kylie: Soni- *The tentacle pulls Kylie into Dark Gaia's body* Sonic: No! *growls* *Sonic flies in afterwards, only to find the area is pitch black, with only the light from his super form eluminating the place* *Sonic desperately looks around, searching for any sign of the poor girl* *Suddenly, orbs of Dark Gaia essence start to cling onto him* Sonic: Ah!! *growls* *He continues to look around, until he finally spots Kylie, who appears to be unconscious* Sonic: Kylie! *He flies towards her* *Several more orbs of Dark Gaia essence cling onto Sonic, his appearance starting to change as they continue to do so* Sonic: Ky--lie..! *He reaches his hand out for her* *Back on the outside, Chip is using everything he's got on Dark Gaia, as he has been left to fight Dark Gaia by himself* *Dark Gaia screeches at him* *Dark Gaia goes to attack him, but he suddenly stops in his tracks* Chip: What the? *Dark Gaia's chest starts to crack, beams of light emitting from the cracks* *The dark titan screeches in pain, as the cracks get bigger, and the light gets brighter* *Suddenly, a flash of light shines from the creature, and something breaks out of the cracked area* *Chip takes a closer look at the ball of light, only to be shocked and amazed at the sight* *The raging ball of light is none other than Sonic, only he appears to be in a super version of his werehog form, holding the unconscious Kylie Dear in his arms* *Sonic flies towards Chip, and lands on one of the temples* *He gently places Kylie onto the ground* Sonic: *He gives a nod to the girl, before turning his attention to Dark Gaia* Keep her safe, Chip. *Sonic flies as high as he can, wearing a look of pure rage on his face* *The dark titan turns it's attention towards the super werehog, and screeches at his meddlesome foe* Sonic: *growls* *The mighty werehog unleashes a super sonic howl, which hurts the ears of the dark titan* Kylie: *groans* *She slowly opens her eyes* H-Huh..? *The dazed girl manages to get a glimpse of the transformed hedgehog, and her eyes shoot open* Kylie: S-Sonic!? *The werehog flies towards the open eye of Dark Gaia as fast as he can, going so fast he goes through the creature's eye like a bullet* *The creature screeches in pain, as light emanates from him* Kylie: *She covers her eyes* *Back At The Surface* *Tail's is seen flying around in the tornado 1* *Distant screaming is heard* Tail: Huh? *Sonic and Kylie are seen falling from the sky* Tail: Whoa! *He flies towards them* *The two land in front of the windmill, that they landed in front of at the start of their journey* *Sonic struggles to get himself out of the ground* Kylie: *groans* *She looks at him* *Sonic manages to free himself from the ground, and looks around* *He manages to see Chip laying on the ground, but when he looks again, the illusion fades, and only his necklace remains* Sonic: *He walks towards the necklace, and picks it up* Kylie: *She looks up at him* Sonic..? *Sonic stares at the necklace for a moment, before putting it around his wrist, and looking out at the ocean* Kylie: *She slowly stands up, and walks towards him* Sonic..? Kylie: B-But, you got your- *Sonic puts his hand on her shoulder* Kylie: H-Huh? Sonic: *sighs* It doesn't matter what happened to me..what matters is that nothing happened to you..as long as you're safe, that's all that matters.. Kylie: *tears well up in her eyes* Sonic.. *The overwhelmed girl pulls the blue blur into a tight hug* Sonic: *He smiles at her* *He hugs her back* Kylie: *sniffles* Thank you Sonic... *The area fades to white* *Many moons later, in the current time* *A city that bears a strong resemblance to New York City is seen* *Kylie is seen walking around the area* *She goes down a staircase that leads down to the subway station* *A subway train stops in front of the entranceway* *Kylie gets onto the subway, with many people getting on after her* *The subway's doors close, and the train takes off* *The opening/closing theme of Cricket In Times Square starts playing on the intercom* Kylie: *sighs* *She looks out the window, looking somewhat bored* *You're probably wondering what I'm doing here, standing in a subway train, when I should be with Sonic and the gang.* *A sign that says Metro Square is seen* *Well..* Kylie: *She smiles at the sign* *That's where I'm heading.* *The train doors open* *You see after the war, me and the gang decided to relocate, you know, get away for a while.* *Kylie gets off the train, and walks towards the stairs* *We ended up relocating to a place called, I think Saint Metro?* Kylie: *She walks up the stairs* *I don't know, I haven't been keeping track of the name of the place.* *She looks around the area* *I wanted to go to a more tropical place, but a big city works too, at least there's electricity, hehe.* *Kylie walks down the street, the focus slowly pulling away from her.* *But enough about me, this story isn't about me, even though I play a huge part, this story is about me and my friends, and how a threat from our past, that we thought we had gotten rid of, came back to haunt us in a very menacing way.* *Meanwhile, in a large apartment building, or at least what looks like an apartment building, Tails is seen working on an invention, while Knuckles is seen sitting on a bed, looking extremely bored* Knuckles: *sighs* Tails, how long are we gonna stay in this city? Tails: Just until everything's been cleaned up back home. Knuckles: Well I hope it's not too long, I still have the Master Emerald to worry about. Tails: It'll be fine, Knuckles, I'm sure it'll be fixed up soon. Knuckles: *sighs* I just don't get how G.U.N. thought it was a good idea to relocate, when it'll be much easier for Eggman to strike again without us! Tails: *sighs* Well..G.U.N.'s not exactly known to make smart decisions.. Knuckles: Heh, you don't have to tell me twice.. *Suddenly, there's a knock at the door* *The two tailed fox, and the red echidna turn their attention to the door* *Someone's voice is heard from the other side of the door* Kylie: Could someone give me a hand with the door? *Knuckles stands up, and walks towards the door* *He opens the door, only to be greeted with a bunch of takeout bags* Knuckles: Whoa! *Kylie peaks her head out from the bags, and smiles nervously at the red echidna* Kylie: Hehe.. Kylie: *giggles* Classic Sonic.. I-Is the table nearby? Tails: Yeah, it's over there. *Tails points to

the dining table, which is next to the kitchen window* Kylie: Thanks Tails.. *Kylie walks towards the table, and drops the bags onto it* Kylie: *sighs* Ok..as soon as Sonic gets back, we can eat, I got each of your favorite dinner foods. *Knuckles' eyes shoot open, and immediately turns his head towards the girl* Knuckles: Enchiladas? Kylie: Yep, and I bought some grapes for you to snack on later. *Knuckles licks his lips, and growls* Knuckles: Where is that hedgehog!? Kylie: *chuckles* Relax Knuckles, I'm sure he'll be home soon. Knuckles: He better, no one likes cold enchiladas.. Kylie: Hehe. *Somewhere In The City* *A blue blur dashes through the streets, with a red blur following behind him* *The blue blur is none other than Sonic, who is seen running through the streets of Saint Metro* *Right behind him, is the black and red hedgehog, otherwise known as Shadow The Hedgehog, skating closer to him* *Shadow quickly catches up to Sonic, the two hedgehogs glance at each other, Sonic gives a sly smirk at Shadow, before picking up the pace* Shadow: Hm, so that's how you wanna play huh? *Shadow immediately picks up the pace, going as fast as he can go* *Sonic laughs at his opponent, before turning his attention to the road, and exclaiming in fear* *A truck drives in front of him, Sonic immediately ducks down, and slides under the truck* *Shadow notices the truck, and uses his rocket shoes to fly over the truck, and lands onto the road* *Sonic sighs his relief* Sonic: That was a close one! *The blue hedgehog turns his attention to the road, as a park is seen in the distance* *Shadow manages to catch up to him, and the two reach the park, place their hands on the stone collums of the entranceway* *The two start breathing heavily, as anyone would after a long race* *Shadow looks at Sonic, and gives him a slight smile* Shadow: Heh, not bad Sonic.. Sonic: *He looks at Shadow* I gotta admit, you did pretty good out there. Shadow: Well I did try my best, it was a race after all.. Sonic: You said it. *chuckles* Shadow: *sighs* *Sonic looks around, taking notice of the time* *7:42.P.M.* Sonic: Oh gosh.. Shadow: What is it..? Sonic: I-I think it's time we go back, th-the gang's probably worried about us. Shadow: Yeah, it's getting late anyways, wouldn't want you to get caught with your tail between your legs.. *The two hedgehogs turn towards the road* Sonic: *sighs* Just be glad, you don't have to deal with the same thing I do.. *The two hedgehogs dash away* *Meanwhile, back at the apartment* *Knuckles is seen staring at his bag of food, waiting impatiently* *He goes to reach for the bag, but Kylie smacks his hand* Knuckles: Ow! *He rubs his hand* Kylie: Not yet, Knuckles. Knuckles: *groans* *Kylie turns her attention to Tails* *Tails is still at his desk, working on his latest invention* *The curious girl turned her attention to the thing he was working on* Kylie: What'cha making, Tails? Tails: It's a tracker. *Tails picks up the invention, which looks a tablet, except it has an antenna, and a handle* Kylie: Oooo..! Tails: It also works as a scanner, and it can detect danger from miles away. Kylie: Detect danger huh? That'll definitely come in handy. Kylie: Hm...Hey Shadow, you can join us for dinner if you want to, there's plenty of food. Shadow: I can't, I have business to attend to.. Kylie: Please Shadow, you've been so busy, we don't get to hang out anymore.. *Shadow looks up at the girl, taking notice to the seemingly sad look on her face* *A sympathetic look appears on his face, and he sighs* Shadow: Ok.. I guess I can join you for dinner. Kylie: I wanted to make it very flavorful. Tails: Y-Yeah...but, maybe next time, don't give the popcorn a butter bath. Kylie: *chuckles* Shadow: Hmm...What is the hero doing..? Kylie: He's walking into the fire cavern. Shadow: Wouldn't he get burned..? Kylie: Uh..W-Well yeah, but his best friend is in there. Shadow: *He looks up at her* Kylie: A-And he doesn't care if he gets hurt, as long as his friend is safe, that's all that matters to him... *She looks down* Shadow: *A slight look of concern appears on his face* Are you ok..? Where's the- *Her eyes go wide* *Sonic is seen laying on the ground in his werehog form, breathing heavily* Kylie: Danger.. *Sonic looks up at them* Sonic: What're you talking about? *The transformed hedgehog gets on his knees, and stands up* Sonic: There's no danger. Kylie: Uh-Uh--Oh.. Shadow: *He looks up at Kylie* I was gonna say, it was probably just that time of the day.. Kylie: *She looks down* *groans* D'oh! You had me so worried! Sonic: *sighs* Sorry Ky, I just didn't want anyone to see me turn. Kylie: *She crosses her arms* Sonic, I've seen you- *Suddenly, a ringing sound is heard* Shadow: Huh? *Shadow reaches into his glove and takes out a small device* Shadow: My communicator's going off. Kylie: When did you get a communicator? Shadow: G.U.N. gave it to me, when we relocated here.. *Kylie and Sonic look at each other, and then back at Shadow* *Shadow taps on the screen, and Rouge's face appears on the screen* Rouge: Shadow! Sonic and Kylie: Rouge?! Shadow: What's going on? Rouge: There's been a disturbance in the area, we've discovered a bunch of creatures attacking some of the civilians. Shadow: Where's the location? Rouge: St.Vincent Street. Sonic: We'll be there, Rouge. *Shadow hangs up the call* Kylie: I'm coming too! Sonic: Kylie no, we don't know what it- Kylie: Sonic, I can do this, I could handle myself during the other adventures, I can handle now. Sonic: *sighs* Ok..But we get out there, be careful. Kylie: I will. *Sonic, Shadow, and Kylie ran away* *And with that, we headed out on what should've been a normal robot attack, or something normal, but what we didn't know, was that that very mission would lead us into something MUCH bigger.. and this is where our story truly begins...* (To Be Continued.)

This isn’t based off of a ask of any kind, but more of a random drabble that I wanted to do since I haven’t seen a lot of fanfics that involve Longclaw as of late sooooo here’s one to add to the pile!

And honestly i just wanted to write something about owl mama and baby sonic.

Longclaw searched around the small hills that surrounded her tiny home. She hovered up to the trees and looked through the leaves only to find no sign of the little hedgehog.

Sonic had snuck out earlier that evening when she was out looking for food and had been gone for a while, a lot longer than she would’ve liked.

The grand owl had come from a long line of noble warriors who fought to protect the balance of all living creatures of this world, but nothing in her years of training could prepare her for having to raise a little 3 year old, who can run at extremely fast speeds.

To fast for her to even catch up with, which has proven to be problematic when he wouldn’t listen to her.

‘Oh Gaia where’d he run off to this time?’ She sighed as she scanned the area in hopes of seeing a hint of blue zip in front of her.

To no avail, she flew back down near the hut and adjusted her armor breastplate, ruffling her feathers in frustration.

“Sonic! Where are you!?” Listening for moment but still heard no response, her heart began to race.

‘Did he go too far? What if someone found him?’

The sun was beginning to set and even though she could see perfectly well in the dark, she worried on how he’ll be able find his way back if he stayed out too long.

Tapping her wing to her beak, she tried to think of where he could have gone.

‘What if he went over to the west coast of the Island? But that’s where....The echidnas! Oh no they must’ve seen him or could be tracking him back here.’ She raised her wings, getting ready to take off.

‘Maybe if I see him halfway there I should be able to-.’

“Wongcaw?”

A high pitched voice cut through her thoughts, startling her right as she flapped up into air causing her to turn around, only to hit her head on a low branch and fall right on her back.

“Oof!” She let her wings out at her sides as she laid in the grass, trying to catch her breath and ease the dull ache on her head.

A small gasp cried out as she heard tiny feet pattering near her head.

“Wongcaw! Wongcaw, you hurted?”

The owl opened her eyes and looked up to see the toddler staring down at her, his little hand touching her face and face full of worry.

The young toddler was still going through pronouncing his L’s correctly, with her name still being a main candidate for it.

Rolling on her side, she shook her head as she wrapped him in her wing, hugging him close to her torso.

“I’m alright Sonic, I just bumped my head a little that’s all.”

Sonic looked up at the owl, his lip in a slight pout and brows furrowed. “No you hurt, i make it better.”

Before she could question him, he zipped up to her shoulder and kissed the top of her head.

She froze in surprise, her feathers ruffled slightly as he slid down into her wings and put his tiny arms around her neck.

Sighing softly, she wrapped her both her wings tightly around the tiny hedgehog, earning a small giggle from him.

Releasing him from the hug, she stood on her feet and gave him a disapproving look. “Sonic, where have you been? You had me worried sick!” She exclaimed as she looked down at him.

He squirmed and shuffled his feet under her intense glare. “I went to the sandy grass where the ocean is.” He said timidly.

‘Sandy grass? He must mean the beach, but which one?’

Longclaw narrowed her eyes in suspicion. “Sonic, did that area you went to have a lot of big black, round rocks near the grass?”

He put his hand under his chin, thinking hard before he gasped. “Yeah! They were shiny and gowed bright in the sun!”

She felt her heart ping in her chest and her face tighten with stress. ‘I was afraid of that, that’s very close to where the village is located.’

“Sonic, I have told you before that you need to stay away from the beaches that have the black rocks near the water! Someone could have seen you there!” She said harshly.

She saw his shoulders scrunch up as his eyes lower, wavering as if to hold back oncoming tears.

Not wanting to scare him even more, she spoke more softly as she grabbed his hands into her wings, giving him direct eye contact.

“I know you like going down there and playing in the sand and water, but it’s too dangerous for you to be down there, especially by yourself where people can see you if you use your powers.”

“But I’m super fast, no one sees me!” He interrupted unintentionally with a hopeful smile.

Longclaw sighed patiently. “All the more reason why you shouldn’t be that far from the hut right now, if you’re near the hut, you’ll have less of a chance to be spotted.”

He lets out a sad sigh and wrings his hands as he rocks back and forth slowly. “But you aways sad and tired, I wanted to get you something so you smile again.”

Longclaw cocks her head to the side. “What? Why do you think I’m sad?”

“You don’t waugh anymore and you don’t smile at the stuff you wike. I wanted to bring you something that makes me happy so that it could make you happy too.”

He then pulls out a small white conch shell from his head quills and holds it in his hand. “I found this for you so you can have the same happy too.”

Speechless, she watched as he lifted the shell to his ear and closed his eyes, smiling.

Granted the last couple of weeks were tough on the both of them, mostly for her. The neighboring village was starting to build more huts and expand their usual hunting grounds, which made them all the more closer to where they were, causing her to do more area sweeps during the night as well during the day.

But she didn’t take account for if he ever noticed her mood changing.

“Here, i show you”

Before she could blink, Sonic rushed up her shoulder again, this time putting the shell somewhat near her ear tufts.

“Can you hear it?” His little tail wagged as she takes the conch from him and adjusts it on her ear tuft.

At first she didn’t hear anything from the shell and as about to put it down, until she heard the faint sounds coming from inside.

Closing her eyes, she concentrated on the noise as it grew louder and louder only to finally hear a slight tinging sound and....squeaking?

Opening her eyes, she drew the shell away from her head to see some sort of hermit crab emerging from the shell, it’s large claws trying snap at her beak.

Letting out a yelp, she quickly put the creature on the ground and watched as it scuttled away into the brush.

Sonic jumped down to the grass and watched as the crustacean disappeared.

Longclaw moves next to him, placing a wing on his head. “I guess that noise you heard wasn’t what you thought it was?”

He slowly nodded, focus still the brush where it disappeared.

He glanced back at her. “He madded?”

“It’s ‘mad’ and yes he was, I would be too if someone moved my home without my permission.”

“I think he mad cause you have no ears.”

Choking back a laugh, she looked at him with disbelief. “Wha-, Sonic I have ears just like you do.”

He let out a giggle as he shook his head. “No, ears wook wike this.” He demonstrates by slightly tugging his tiny ears. “You just have big feathers on your head.”

“Sonic, that’s actually where my ears are.” She lowered her head for him to see, making the large feathers near her ear folds move back and forth. “You see them?”

He nods, watching with interest as she lowered the feathers against her head.

Curious he reached his hand up and smoothed them down against her head. “It’s soft.” This time using both hands, he started to mess with the smaller feathers on her head.

“Yeah I know.” he started to climb on top of her head, painfully pulling ron the long feathers. “Ok ok that’s enough now.”

She gently pulled him off and set him down. Turning towards the horizon, the sun was starting to dip into the ocean, it’s light casting dark shadows on the trees.

“It’s starting to get dark now, it’s time we head back to the hut Soni-.” She stopped to see the toddler had disappeared once again.

‘Oh for Gaia’s sake’

“Sonic no more hiding ok? We have to get back before it gets too dark.”

Hearing the leaves rustling from above, she glanced up to see him crouching on one of the thick branches right above her head.

His eyes lit up when she saw him and started to giggle loudly before moving towards the other branches on up ahead.

‘Well at least he’s heading towards the hut.’

Letting out a low chuckle, she shook her head and continued toward the bridge that connected the lower area to their hut on the top of the hill.

‘This little one certainly is quite the bundle of energy this world has been missing for so long. With everything that’s been going on, it definitely needs it again.’ She started to frown as the hut came closer into view.

‘Did we do enough? Did I do enough? Everything my family, my people went through, fought through so much peril and tried to keep the balance, but it seems to be getting worse as the years pass and now I’m taking care of a child who could be the only key to the-.’

“Wongcaw!”

She jumped as she heard Sonic yell her name and saw him standing on a tree root about a foot in front of her, tapping his foot with a pout on his face.

He pointed a finger at her as his pout deepened. “No more frowning!”

Longclaw blinked rapidly as she let her face loosen. “Oh it’s alright, I’m not sad anymore Sonic.”

Although her face showed that she was fine, her voice was betraying that statement.

And Sonic caught onto that fact quite quickly.

As she walked closer to where he was, still deep in her thoughts, he began to think of something he could do.

‘Ooh I know!’ His tail wagged back and forth as he got an idea and went to put his plan in motion.

Getting into a pouncing position, he grinned mischievously as the owl came closer.

Raising his hands up, he charged straight towards her, making small roaring sounds as he did.

Coming completely out of her thoughts due to the sudden noise, she turned her head to see where it came from, only to feel a light weight hit against her torso.

“What in the-?”

Looking down, she saw him trying to wrap his arms around her and looking up at her with a very playful expression.

Before she could get a word out, Sonic started to wiggle his fingers her sides, continuing to roar at her.

“I not Sonic, I am tiger! Rawr!” He exclaimed as he zipped up to her shoulder and scribbled his fingers into the side of her neck.

Unaffected by the adorable attack, the owl simply smiled at the hedgehog’s attempt to cheer her up as he continued to jump around her body, trying to find a weak spot while letting out tiny roars and growls

“Soni-, hey ok you don’t have to do thAT!” She yelped as he hit a sensitive spot right underneath her wing. The sudden jolt knocking him off her wing and onto the grass.

Despite landing hard on the ground, the toddler started to laugh hysterically at Longclaw’s reaction.

Rubbing her side, she looked down at Sonic, who was still giggling uncontrollably, while holding his hands to his stomach.

“It seems like that made you laugh more than it actually did for me.”

“Cause your voice went all funny when I tickled you there!” He gasped as he dissolved into giggles again.

Letting out a laugh as well, she crouched down near Sonic and gave a playful expression.

“Well do you know what’s more dangerous than wild tigers?”

Sonic shook his head, still giggling and his smile growing wider. “No.”

She raised her wings in a menacing fashion out towards him.

“Giant owls who like to eat cute little hedgehogs!” She growls as she lunges at him.

Sonic shrieked and turned to run, but Longclaw managed to swoop him up and wrap him tightly in her wings before he could.

“NOO! Don’t eat me!” He squealed with laughter, scrunching his shoulders and ducking his head as she nipped at his tiny ears.

“I’m gonna gobble you up! Nom nom nom!” She said playfully as she nuzzled her beak into his neck

Sonic continued laughing as he attempted to push her head away, only for Longclaw reach up with her talon and used one claw to scratch at his belly.

Letting out a high pitched squeal, he kicked his legs as he tried to protect his stomach and neck from the attack, but couldn’t due to his hysterical laughter.

Feeling the claw make it’s way up to his armpit, he squeaked in alarm and curled up and rolled up in his ball form, giggling lightly as he caught his breath.

He heard Longclaw let out a couple of laughs, causing him to peek his eyes out at her, seeing her smile slyly at him as she carried him and continued walking towards their home.

“See? I told owls were more dangerous.”

Unrolling completely, he let out another giggle as held onto her breastplate, calming down.

“But you nice.” He said after a moment, looking up at her.

She stopped, looking down the small child in her arms as she thought about what he said.

“Yes, i am. Lucky for you that I am huh?”

Sonic let out a slight laugh as he snuggled closer to her armor, closing his eyes. “You smiled.”

“Hmm?” She paused right as she opened the door.

“You smiled.” He repeated as he let out a yawn, eyes still closed

As she opened their door, she felt a smile come to her face. ‘Yeah, I haven’t felt this happy in...awhile.’

As she put him down in his makeshift crib, she looked down at him as he napped. Her wing stroked his head as he snored silently.

‘It’s mostly thanks to you for being here that I know life can be bright here once again.’

Shadow Headcanons - d/nt r/blog

Headcanons are under read more for triggers and length. Please read tw in tags before continuing. Thank you.<3

Ruby’s attire of choice is as depicted above, to give him a bit of difference from his alternates. He does have the hover shoes and he does wear them sometimes, but this is his main outfit/attire. He typically wears a light grey hooded sweatshirt and a dark grey/black leather jacket over top. He wears knee high brown boots and he does have wrist inhibitors you just can’t see them through the jacket. Almost every interaction with Ruby, he will be in this attire unless stated otherwise. He prefers this as it covers not only scars but because its comfortable and he likes it for decency reasons. This art was made by @spiritwinding​.<3

Ruby has a nick in left ear from a bullet wound caused by an alternate. Its very small, but noticeable. He bares 36 in total scars across his arms that were caused by himself. He also has a stab wound on the right side of his chest. It is buried under fur and hard to see when he isn’t wearing his jackets.

Ruby can run sonic speed, without the hover boots (hence why he wears the brown boots). The hover boots help for smoother movement and easier gliding/drifting. But he can move super speeds on his own without the need of the hover shoes. He likes the boots though because they are lighter, even if he lacks a little more control.

Ruby has a soft spot for animals. He doesn’t really outright show this, but he’d save a bug and put it outside before smashing it or letting other’s smash it. He’s the type to rescue cats from trees or free turtles from netting. His soft spot for animals comes from Maria. She use to talk about animals on the ark all the time and he’s forever since wanted to protect them.

He does NOT require a chaos emerald to perform chaos control/chaos blast/chaos spears or anything chaos related not tied to his super form. I know this headcanon is funky because canon wise the writers say chaos energy can’t be used without a chaos energy but then a lot of Sonic games prove this wrong (at least from whats i’ve seen) Shadow is made with chaos energy so I believe in the beginning yeah, he struggled without it but now he is well adverse in how to control his abilities.

Ruby is well versed in piano playing along with the bass. Though, you will never catch him playing either. He also keeps a collection of old records that he has found through the years and he likes to listen to them on very rare occasions.

He cannot sing very well at all. His voice isn’t bad, he just doesn’t do it enough to really be comfortable or know how to breathe properly doing it. Again, not that you would ever see/hear him sing in your lifetime. 

The Black Arms blood can be extremely weird at times. He’s immune to all illness and disease, as well as the effects of alcohol and drugs. He typically cannot develop infections or anything. The only thing that can counter this is: A.) If he obtains a lot of deep/serious injuries that require a lot of healing. His blood can become overwhelmed and overworked and either slow or pretty much stop which is when he can get sick/develop infections. To avoid infections, his body will go into deep sleep to regain itself. He still feels pain and can take either as long or longer then a normal mobian to heal if his body is completely overworked and B.) Mephiles blood can potentially damage the black arms blood cells if not completely wipe them out and pretty much null their immuno possibilities.

His favorite food is cheesecake and he typically drinks black coffee or chamomile tea with a hint of lemon. He will not drink soda nor alcohol. He knows they won’t do anything to him, he’s just not interested in them. Regular style cheesecake is his absolute favorite thing. 

Ruby is atheist. He does not believe in a higher power nor would he worship it. He sees no purpose in it and considers it a waste of time. (Again mun =/= muse do NOT send hate) This comes from he looks at the view of the horrible things worlds go through (i.e black arms attacking, 06, the world splitting apart, the war) and doesn’t see how a higher power could do such heinous acts. But also - Mephiles is a deity and NO.

Ruby has NEVER until recently been exposed to the phantom ruby. His world died during 06. Therefore everything after never happened. He knows about it a little bit from Spirit, but he is unaware of its capabilities and strengths. He only knew about the Gaia’s because he reads a LOT and read the manuscripts.

In his free time, Ruby will read. He basically has a library of books in his cabin and if hes not interested in being social he will read. He reads anything from fiction, to text books, to even romance novels. Its more so for just reading everything, but he secretly likes romance b ut hes taking that to the grave with him lol.

He likes to be clean: Ruby is not a fan of being dirty. He doesn’t like being muddy, soaked, covered in dirt, dust, ash, etc. He hates it. He hates feeling grimy and will attempt to shower at the first feeling of dirt. 

He doesn’t require sleep/eating/water as he is a genetic hybrid. He doesn’t need it, but will indulge. Just because he doesn’t need to sleep, doesn’t mean he can’t feel tired. He doesn’t have to sleep, but if hes bored enough or hes been all over the place he might sleep. And when he does sleep, he is very CALM. He doesn’t toss or turn really. He typically sleeps on his back with one hand behind his head, one rested at his side with his legs straight out (maybe slightly bent) or he sleeps on his stomach with his hands under his head and his one leg bent up over a pillow. He doesn’t snore and typically he wakes up in the same position he woke up in.

The Chaos Warrior - Chaos Blur AU

It was a calm day in planet freedom, people going on with their normal life...as normal as stuff can get on this planet but whatever.

Freedom is a planet brimming with both nature and technology, having wonderful and big natural locations as well as intensively advanced technology.

The two actually coexist, with the technology actually being made to help and enhance nature, making plants last longer and be more alive.

Yeah, Freedom was a great planet for that...shame it doesn’t make up for the danger it poses.

You see, Freedom is a Dangerous with a capital D planet, there’s danger at every turn due to a mad scientist trying to conquer the world, he had managed to almost conquer it and sometimes destroy it in more than one occasion.

Not to mention Freedom is filled to the brim with ancient gods and powerful artifacts that may bring the destruction to the world.

Luckily they all have been saved by a really powerful spiky hero.

Talking about him, the inhabitants of South Island could see a golden streak soar across the air, they wave at it with smiles on their face.

In an destroyed base formerly known as Scrap Brain, the mad scientist know as Eggman amassed a great army of badniks, Metallix and the Egg Destroyer Battlesuit.

“Is everything checked out for?” Said the mad doctor to his two companions:Orbot and Cubot.

“Yes sir, everything is coming together” Said Orbot.

“This time our opponent won’t live to see the sun once again” Cubot’s voice chip was working like crap again, but Eggman was fed up trying to fix it.

“Great, it is time for our glorious return, this time this nasty little sewer rat won’t be able to-”

Eggma stopped his speech when a blue blur tore his robots apart in a matter of milliseconds.

He simply let out a sigh, though this didn’t bother him as much as usual for some reason.

Suddenly a blue hedgehog with emerald green eyes appeared in front of him, he was wearing a black short sleeve undershirt and pants with blue flame motif, a STH logo with a boost cone emblazoned in the chest of his shirt, a emerald green sash over his waist, red and white soap shoes, white gloves and some kind of emerald bracelets that shifted colors in his wrist and ankles, he also seemed to have a bracelet with a jade gem on one of his arms.

The hedgehog gave the mad scientist an annoyed stare.

“What do you want now?” The hedgehog tone let it know that he wasn’t thrilled to see him.

Which was weird to Eggman, since he usually was very fond of taunting him and stroking his own ego...which to be fair, he does often as well.

“What’s up with you today” Asked the fat scientist.

“What’s up? Today is Tails graduation! This is an important time for him and i want to be there for him, i don’t have time to be dealing with you!”

“Yeesh, his graduation, like he won’t have many of those in the future, but i can assure you he won’t have anymore after i conquer this world! AHAHAHAHAHAHAH!”

Sonic rolled his eyes in annoyance.

“Eggman, face it, i can beat you easily on my own, been doing it for years now, and with that shitty half assed army you have there it will be even faster” He had a small smirk “I probably won’t need my trump card” But got serious again.

Eggman got annoyed at this, but surprisingly he wasn’t furious as usual.

“Fine, let’s see how you deal with Metallix!” He send the robot copy of Sonic.

Sonic let out a sigh, he would end this quicker, but considering he took out the weakest and larger part of this shitty army, he decided to play with them a little, at least with this robot.

Metallix started with a punch that was easily catched by Sonic, who then charged his hand with a green light(chaos energy) like with a certain friend of his did and punched Metallix, sending him flying.

Metallix managed to eventually stopped himself but now had one half of his face wrecked, before he could come back to attack he was hit by Sonic again with a kick which send him to the ground, leaving a crater.

Metallix barely managed to dodge Sonic’s spindash which made a bigger crater in the ground, his back has been wrecked by Sonic’s kick which luckily didn’t damage his rocket thruster so he could still move fast to “keep up” with Sonic.

Metallix started charging his plasma blaster from his chest as well as his lightning bolts from his hands, he launched all three at the same time in hope’s he hit Sonic with one of these.

But not any of those hit their target and he was instead wrecked by a kick to the side of his head by the chaos blur.

Metallix ended up crashing into a wall of the former base, once he could actually recover from the attack he saw Sonic spin for a bit before having his hand being charged by chaos energy.

“Chaos Wave!” He shouted before launching a barrage of chaos energy based projectiles at his robot copy.

Metallix quickly set up a shield to block the attack and in effect, managed to absorb most of the damage...but the attack ended doing a lot of damage anyway.

Sonic had to say, this Metallix ended up being very disappointing, he couldn’t even keep up with him in his normal form unlike the last one.

It was a bit weird that Eggman was trying another one of his schemes with this, usually he planned for a long time and came up with schemes that took some time to thwart, this was just pathetic.

It could be a trap though.

Despite that he had a place to be, so let’s finish things now.

“Chaos Boost!” He shouted before being cloaked by a blue aura and shot up to Metallix.

The robot fruitlessly tried to set up a shield, but even then the blow ended up being too strong and did severe damage as well as sending the robot crashing into several walls of the base and end in a pile of rubble.

Seeing his opponent wasn’t getting up, he turned to Eggman.

“Well eggy, seems your little scheme has come to an end, kinda time waster, but guess its par with the course with you nowadays” That was a bit of a lie, since his recent schemes that involved Dark Gaia, Wisp, Time Eater and Zeti put the world in mortal danger, he got his work cut out for him those times.

Not that he ever admit it to Eggy.

Eggman didn’t seem worry he was about to face Sonic despite knowing full well he was gonna lose, he had a few ace under his sleeve.

“I won’t be so sure spikeball, Metallix isn’t down for the count yet”

Sonic wondered what he was talking about before a purple aura with pink lightning came from the direction Metallix was, it blasted the debris away and in a second Metallix hit Sonic with a punch, this time hitting him and doing damage.

Sonic remembered that transformation Metallix obtained when he absorbed the ancient core from Lost Labyrinth all those years ago, it was in a way his own counter to his ability, since he could also access it at will.

There wasn’t an official name for that power up, but everyone settled for Primal form.

Anyways, Primal Metallix was pounding Sonic without a moment of respite, he knew he could easily turn this around if he actually got the opportunity to react, so he keep wailing on him mercilessly.

Eggman seemed...actually surprised about how well Metallix was performing.

“This wasn’t part of the plan but i take it, GO METALLIX! ATTACK AND DON’T LET HIM TRANSFORM! THIS CAN BE YOUR CHANCE!” Yelled the egg scientist.

Metallix keep attacking Sonic, from using ancient lightning, blue electric energy that could be used to make attack...so basically another version of chaos energy, to basic punches, kicks and spindashes.

Then he threw Sonic into the ground and lifted his finger up, creating a massive ball of ancient electricity, which he proceeded to launch at Sonic.

“I can’t believe it, Sonic is about to perish, this moment is finally-”

“Oh no! The unstoppable Sonic, defeated by a mere faker, what a dramatic irony!...Nah, just kidding” Sonic says despite seemingly being trapped by an electric ball of death.

Metallix keeps throwing ancient electric blast making the attack bigger in hopes it kills him, but it was too late as he hears the sound of someone powering up.

“Chaos Deflect!” Sonic yells and suddenly the balls of electricity shots back into Metallix, who takes heavy damage from it.

Then Sonic comes up from the hole he was, this time his appearance changed with his fur being a glowing golden, quills stood up, ruby red eyes, his sash turned ruby red, the blue flames of his outfit now golden, the emerald bracelets now gone, he was somewhat buffer now and had a golden aura with green electricity around himself.

Also he was flying.

This is Super Sonic, a powerful transformation that for most people it would require the seven chaos emeralds to achieve and use.

But for this hedgehog, one accident that happened in his youth (or even younger, nobody knows except maybe him) let him absorb enough energy to use it whenever he wants.

This is Sonic’s trump card in most battles he’s been, allowing him to achieve victory even when it seemed impossible.

Granted, the form could be outmatched at times, but Sonic was skillful enough to find a work around those types of situations.

The super hedgehog locked eyes with Primal Metallix, he knew at this point he was stronger than him and had the advantage once again, so this shouldn’t take long.

They both charged power and go at each other, with Sonic having a clear advantage as he continuously overpowered the robot and knocked it down.

The metal doppelganger tried his damnest to keep up, powering up as high as he could, but it didn’t even matter as he was unable to even hurt him.

You see, Super Forms have this little thing called “Invincibility” which basically makes it so as that a super form can shrug off any hit from people who are weaker or even on the same ballpark than them, it needs to be attacked by a stronger being to get hurt.

Which means that even as hard as he hit him, he wasn’t getting anywhere.

Metallix got furious at his current situation, he wondered why he was so weak now, usually Eggman updates and powers him up with the recent data they collected with Sonic so he could keep up with him, a way to simulate Sonic’s progression in power and prove him wrong in that “Mechs can’t grow”

Yet it seemed that Eggman wasn’t even bothered by it, he just send him with outdated data to fight Sonic, why?!

No matter, the robot was gonna try as hard as he could, it was one of the traits he gained when he was formed by his life data.

His determination.

Pushing his power as far as it could go, Metallix purple aura grew in power alongside his electric sparks, then he seemingly was also surrounded by fire.

This was one of his strongest moves, the V.Maximum Overdrive Attack Consisted on overloading his circuits for a burst in speed and power, a dangerous move.

But he didn’t have anything to lose at this point, his entire body was a wreck now from the constant hits he took from Sonic.

Primal Metallix attacked Super Sonic at speeds that took him by surprise, making him unable to dodge and only seemingly catched him by his hands.

They both crashed to the ground, creating a blinding orange light.

Eggman waited intrigued to see who ended coming on top.

By the time the dust cleared, both fighters were still alive, but one was in clear better condition than the other.

Super Sonic managed to set up a barrier to absorb the damage, he may have a few bruise here and there but nothing noteworthy, while the robot barely had a shape and looked more like floating scrap metal now.

The Super Hedgehog smirked as he saw his opponent clearly unable to even continue fighting anymore, he already had enough game for now.

“Chaos Boom” He said and an pulse of energy with the force of a Sonic Boom threw his opponent far away.

The hedgehog then charged a compressed little ball of chaos energy in his hand and then aimed at Metallix, who somehow managed to get himself up again.

“Chaos Flash!” Shouted Super Sonic and a big beam of energy shot out of his hand that completely swallowed Metallix, erasing him completely.

The hedgehog then turned to Eggman, now he wasn’t even gonna waste time with the old man.

“So Sonic, maybe you can take it easy on me and just leave thi-” He couldn’t even finish his sentence when the Egg Destroyer Battlesuit was destroyed by eye beams from Super Sonic’s eyes.

He wasn’t dead, not because Sonic cared mind you, but because Eggy had a knack for surviving things that would kill anybody else.

Having taken care of his enemy, Sonic took out his phone and checked out the time.

“Kay, i wanna be there as quick as possible so...” He put his phone back into...hammerspace.

“Chaos Control!” He shouted and vanishes in a golden flash.

From the wreckage of his robot Eggman emerged, he dusted himself off and addressed his lackeys.

“Orbot, did you get the new data” Asked Eggman.

“Yes sir, the new data has been downloaded” Said Orbot

“This time, our opponent will be crushed by the unstoppable might of the Eggman Empire, and our dad will finally be able to rule everything with the iron fist he was always destined to have!” Said Cubot.

Eggman smirked for two reasons.

First, his plan was going along.

Two, he finally found a good voice clip for Cubot.

Anyways, time to begin is latest plan in conquest

Codename: “Phantom Victory”

Today in central city elementary school is graduation day, little kids were leaving one part of the life and starting another one: Middle School.

Of course this wasn’t always good, since middle school can be know as one of the most soul sucking phase of one life, alongside high school and when you get a job you don’t like, though that varies from person to person.

There’s also dealing puberty, can’t forget about that.

Miles “Tails The Fox” Prower could be considered a weird case, for starters he was graduating a little earlier than most people, at 11 years old, he could theoretically have graduated much quicker, but there’s a reason for that.

Tails was also formerly one of the heroes of this planet alongside his foster father Sonic, he still attended school during that time and actually managed to blow past kindergarten to elementary school, since back when he wa little he was unable to attend school due to not being allowed due to his two tails and people not liking him.

He was kinda popular, with people constantly asking him about Sonic and even his own adventures, it then got to the point people were interested on him as a person.

He actually managed to get friends his age instead of hanging with teens and adults.

One day however, he stopped going into adventures with Sonic and stopped being a hero.

This was actually a major recurrence with the Freedom Heroes, a lot of them ended up stopping the hero business because of injury, family or personal issues, starting a family of their own, work, studies, personal life or simply moving on or retiring from the hero work.

In the end, Sonic was the last hero, luckily he was strong enough to do it on his own.

Tails stopped because of an injury on his legs...which consisted on losing both of them, he managed to create robotic ones to replace them, but sill.

That day it was agreed with everyone that he would stop being a hero and dedicate himself to his normal life, not wanting his future to be cut short because of the danger, even though he was against it at the start he slowly understood and actually felt ok with his normal life.

He was a little scared at first that everyone in school would hate him or stop liking him because he called quits...but surprisingly everyone still liked him and even was understanding of him.

Afterwards he decided to not blow past school to quickly so he could hang out with his friends, school wasn’t actually hard and he doubted middle school and high school would, he mostly just went there to met with his friends and have what someone could call a normal life.

And today he was going to be graduating.

It’s weird, he’s been in dangerous situations and even faced impossible odds, he was still excited for it.

He kinda wished Sonic was ther-

“Heya buddy”

Tails smiled, he kinda expected it.

“You came” Said Tails.

Sonic grinned, he had completely healed from any injury he may have sustained from Metallix.

“Sorry about taking so long, i stopped to play with Eggy and Metal a bit,but luckily I arrived at time” He said.

Sonic is Tails foster parent taking care of him since he found him as a toddler in West Side Island all those years ago even when he wasn’t even a teen, he took him in to his shitty house which was the best he had at the time, raised him, cooked for him, get him to sleep, taught him to fight and everything a good father does.

At the start he was kinda lax about him going with him at his adventures, having fun and seeing it like a father-son bonding activity, but slowly the danger and close calls made him rethink that until the accident where he lost his legs.

That was one of the scariest moments in his life, from then on Tails quit heroism, but still helped with his smarts by making devices and helping Sonic get a better hang of his powers.

It wasn’t just Tails, various of his friends started quitting for several reasons leaving him as the sole protector of Freedom, except maybe Team Dark and that’s just them joining because they work for GUN.

So it was just him and his super form he could rely on to save the day, but he hanged in and managed to pull that off.

He still keep in touch whenever he could, though he and his friends aren’t as close as they were before.

Friends drift apart, he guessed.

Still, he saved the world, traveled through it, actually had a job and raised Tails, that was basically his life.

Now he had some shit to do, he took out his cellphone to take photos.

“You ready?” Asked the Chaos Blur.

“Yup” Answered the two tailed fox.

The two went in.

like its not always an equal ratio but i think almost every game and every """weird""" aspect of them can be broken down to those three essentials. here lemme use Sonic Unleashed as an example

shonen anime plot – Eggman wakes up Dark Gaia, the embodiment of negative emotions, to power his empire. doing so splits the planet into pieces and drains the dragon ba chaos emeralds, so Sonic runs around the world trying to fix both

eldritch fantasy threats – Dark Gaia's complete form is a planet-sized draconic monster with a wide venus-flytrap-like jaw, hundreds of tongues, and twelve eyes (seven of which are inside its mouth). before that, it manifests as hordes of demons that torture and possess people at night

rubberhose cartoon logic – a piece of Dark Gaia infects Sonic and basically makes him a werewolf, the demons all look like squishy stretchy geckos with neon eyeliner, and Light Gaia, its positive and just-as-powerful counterpart, is a tiny puppy with fairy wings

like yeah its batshit, but its a fun eclectic kind of batshit that draws from multiple different genre philosophies that are each super fun to play around with on their own, and i dont get how people can act like there's no appeal here, thanks for coming to my ted talk

the sonic series is a chaotic three-way between rubberhose cartoon logic, shonen anime plots, and eldritch fantasy threats, and i wouldnt have it any other way
